The
Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park is
a pioneering environmental reserve and
public park located in Grand Cayman.
For over four years, Commonwealth
provided design management, construction
and supervision for the 65 acre park. With a
variety of unique theme areas, the tourism attraction
offer a secure habitat for a variety of plants, birds,
and animals. It has been developed to attract international
visitors with an interest in environmental conservation. The botanic
and
cultural heritage of the Cayman Islands is the primary emphasis.
Commonwealths
role as landscape architect, architectural designer and project
manager combined with DDM Horticulture of Florida, has
proven to
be a success. In 1998 the Florida Nursery
Growers
Association presented the Floral Garden
with
their Landscape Award of Excellence,
with
an honourable mention for the Heritage
Garden and Visitor Centre.
