This 1,600 acre rural estate, containing one of Canada’s finest Greek Revival mansions and associated Picturesque landscape, was donated intact to a local land trust. This unique gift, a complete cultural landscape, with an entire country estate containing working farms, a former industrial village, archaeological sites and exceptional aboriginal artifacts, also contains one of the largest old growth Carolinian slough forests in Ontario, making it a vital part of the Lower Grand

River ecosystem.
Commonwealth led a team of consultants in assessing the entire estate and providing conservation policies and a business plan to guide future development and assure

financial sustainability. This Management Plan is the first step in realizing the full potential of this
nationally important historic site.
